this is the differnt laters. i could probbaly have found a better way to do this but this is what i did.
1. i covered the baloon's in tape mostly cuz they would keep expoloding on me and i got mad. and then i taped the two ends together so they looked a little like a hour glass.
2. i took the masking tape and i cut it into strips and applyed that to the baloon so it was like a litttle cadge around the baloons i then applyed tape around the middle section where there was no baloon as reinforcement
3.this is the frist layer of paper apply this in random directions i used a mixture of flower and water for my paper mache paste.
4. is the 2nd layer of tape. you may choose not to do this if you let it dry. i had to becuase i had to keep going even thought it was still wet. so this is basicly reinforcement
5.is another layer of news paper (let dry)
6. once the layer of news paper was basicly dry i added a layer of white paper ( this is when i original stoped took it to school and my group told me it wasnt good enought even thought they only gave me 1 night to make it in -_-'
7.i made little rolls of news paper to give it a more rounded out shape then i taped a pice of news paper to it so that it would look more ball like
8. i then added another later of news paper ( let dry)
9. is another layer of white paper ( let dry)
10. first coat of green paint.
11. second layer of green paint
12. i sponged on some yellow paint in stripes very lightly to give it more of the watermelon colouring. then i put a light green wash over top to soften the yellow paint.

by the way i had a weekend do this. i have a presentaton on friday and they told me thursday night i needed to do this. and that they needed it for friday ( cuz they were gonna paint it on the weekend) when they saw it friday they said it didn't look enough like a watermelon and i needed to make it more round. so i started it thursday and its now done. if i'd had a lot more time it would have looked a lot nicer but i still like it.
